The James K. Polk Home is happy to announce a new Polk Academy experience, Curator Camp. Campers will get hands-on experience with artifacts from the collection, design their own exhibit, and take a trip to the TN State Museum in Nashville. Cost is $150 for the week. Ages 9-11.

Polk’s America | David Whitson Barr

July's Polk's America lecture and discussion features David Whitson Barr, founding member of the Young Hickories, historic firearms collector, and amateur historian. Mr. Barr will examine the technological changes of weaponry during James K. Polk's lifetime. Additionally, several historic and reproduction firearms will be on display. Join us July 22th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church next door to the Polk Home visitor center at 7 pm. Refreshments will be provided.
