Muletown In The Round – Feb. 17th (Rory Feek + Firekid!)
It’s time for another round of singer-songwriters at Marcy Jo’s Muletown in Columbia, TN.
Rory Feek hosts a special “Muletown in the Round” with guests Heidi Feek and Dillon Hodges, of firekid.
Known as firekid, the universe brought Dillon Hodges and Heidi Feek together based on their shared love for making the old new again. Introduced by a mutual friend who recognized the connection– Hodges’ music aimed to mix elements of bluegrass and pop and Feek’s a culmination of trail songs and pop. Originally a moniker for his solo project, firekid began with Dillon Hodges in Florence, Alabama. A little over two hours away from Florence, Heidi Feek was living on a farm just outside of Nashville. Feek would tag along with her dad Rory, frequenting the Bluebird, writers rounds, and Nashville’s songwriting staples. Individually, they each shared the same urge to evolve the music that they loved and grew up surrounded by. As their discography develops, firekid has strayed farther and farther away from being just a genre-bending folk pop band mixing elements from bluegrass, pop, and hip hop.
Farmer and filmmaker, author and artist, Rory Feek is a true renaissance man and storyteller that crosses all creative mediums from music and film to books and digital media. As a songwriter, Rory has written songs like “Met Him in a Motel Room (Trisha Yearwood), “Me & The Blues,” “Some Beach” (Blake Shelton), and “A Little More Country Than That” (Easton Corbin). Rory also recently released his first solo album, “Gentle Man” in June of 2021. Learn more at roryfeek.com.
