Muletown In The Round Dec. 16th (Matt Johnson/KIRWAN/Austin Tyler Jones)
It’s time for another round of singer-songwriters at Marcy Jo’s Muletown in Columbia, TN. This session, Matt Johnson of Muletown Coffee hosts a special “Muletown in the Round” session with songwriting guests Matt Johnson, KIRWAN the Band, and Austin Tyler Jones.
Matthew Craig Johnson‘s simple chords and melodies are intentionally and strategically crafted to support each tale he wants to tell. He prides himself as a throwback to the singer-songwriters of the 1970s. He was born and raised in the Nashville area but ended up chasing a girl down to Muscle Shoals, Alabama where he cut his teeth at Noiseblock Studios producing with some of the legendary songwriting and recording talent of the area. Most recently, Matt produced the album “Gentle Man” for Rory Feek in partnership with Ben Isaacs. Several years ago he moved to Columbia, TN and opened Muletown Roasted Coffee on the square, but continues to produce music for artists.
‘KIRWAN’ the band is a newly formed country music duo with husband and wife Colm and Caitriona Kirwan. Collectively they have performed or worked with artists such as Don Williams, Van Morrison, Daniel O’Donnell, Joey and Rory, George Jones, Ray Price, Collin Raye, Joan Armatrading, Westlife’s Brian McFadden, whilst also collaborating and writing songs with some of the biggest hit songwriters in Nashville, the UK, and Ireland.
Austin Tyler Jones is a singer/songwriter from Columbia, TN and performs a stylish mix of folk, rock, and soul. After making his TV debut on season 12 of NBC’s “The Voice” in 2017, Jones continues to write and sing.
