Mule Kick 5K and 1 Mile Trot
April 6 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
According to Maury Regional Health Care Foundation Executive Director Joe Kilgore, “We are pleased to continue hosting this event that coincides with the Foundation’s mission of improving the health of residents in our area. In addition to the excitement of enjoying a fun environment on race day, we are thrilled that proceeds from the event will be returned to the community to help fund and maintain the Maury Regional Health mobile medical unit that serves residents in our region who may have little or no access to health care due to lack of transportation or other resources. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Wellness and Aquatic Center Healthy Living Endowment and the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department. We have taken feedback from last year’s participants to make what was already a great event even better this year.”
On Saturday, April 6, the course will begin at Riverwalk Park next to Riverside Elementary with an 8 a.m. start time for the 5K and a 9 a.m. start time for the 1-Mile Family Trot. Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate. Refreshments will be provided and awards will be given to the men’s and women’s overall finishers, men’s and women’s master overall finishers, as well as to the top three finishers in each age group by gender. The 1-Mile Trot will award the top three male and female overall finishers.
